MVP-SOS continues to fund children of New Milford so they are able to participate in local educational, arts and sports programs such as these. Over the last 14+ years, MVP-SOS has spent over $400,000 on registration fees to local businesses and organizations. These are the local organizations that we have partnered with and support.

How to redeem your organization’s voucher!

       

  1. Gather all of the voucher’s submitted for the month or the season.

  2. At the end of the month/season mail them to MVPSOS, P.O. Box 1146, New Milford, CT, 06776

  3. When the vouchers have been received by MVPSOS, a check will be issued for the total amount of the vouchers received.

  4. The check will then be mailed to the organization for reimbursement of the vouchers.

New Milford Youth Lacrosse, a 501c3 organization, was formed to provide instruction and play for boys and girls in grades 2nd through 8th in the New Milford area. Our goal is to promote LAX in a fun and enthusiastic environment for boys and girls. To achieve this goal, NMYL focuses on teaching good basic fundamentals, developing players through game skills and promoting good sportsmanship, respecting all participants and focusing on teamwork while cooperating with the high school LAX programs.

We are Connecticut Sports Arena, located at 32 Still River Drive in New Milford, CT. Inside we have a turf soccer field and 3 hardwood basketball courts as well as a mezzanine room which overlooks both playing surfaces from the middle of the building. In our lower level we have a performing arts center (PAC) where we have the area’s best kids and adult theatre programming. Open since 2009 we have established the area’s best basketball, soccer and now volleyball programs for kids of all ages.

TheatreWorks

Originally built in 1902, the theatre served as a Black Adventist Church until membership dwindled and it was disbanded in the 1960s. In 1973, a group of artists formed The Creative Arts Center of New Milford, Inc. with the goal of presenting not only theatre but a variety of artistic events. As time wore on, "The Little Theatre" focused more and more on what it did best and in 1992 was re-named TheatreWorks to more accurately reflect the company and its mission.

We are a 201 Acre Nature preserve, Summer Camp, hiking, bird-watching, garden plots, animals, and nature education for all ages including programs tailor-made for the classroom or scout troop as well as for family or community enjoyment and learning.

Northwestern Connecticut Youth Hockey is the premier youth ice hockey program in western Connecticut. Based at the Canterbury School in New Milford and the Gunnery in Washington, programs are available for all levels of hockey and skating ability from beginners through travel level.

The Department of Social Services assists New Milford residents with their social, emotional and economic needs. Services extend to helping people meet the basic human needs of food, shelter, clothing, and maintenance of health and well-being. Income eligibility is determined by a professional social worker. Most programs require an interview with a staff person.
